Gunslinger spars with 'Guv'nor'

LONDON -- Revolver Entertainment's production arm Gunslinger is placed to create a biopic of well known Brit bare-knuckle fighter Lenny ''The Guv'nor'' McLean. Pic depends about the book ''The Guv'nor Tapes,'' put together by Peter Gerrard, which consists of extensive interviews with McLean, and also the script has been composed by Paul Van Carter (''Feltham'') and Martin Askew, McLean's nephew. The untitled project will chronicle McLean's violent existence from his humble origins in Hoxton, East London, to boxer, bouncer, bare-knuckle fighter, actor, accused killer and family guy. Revolver's Justin Marciano and Nick Taussig will produce the pic with McLean's boy, Jamie McLean. Gunslinger has created three films in the first 15 several weeks of operation: Brit action thriller ''Shank,'' girl gang drama ''Sket,'' presently in publish production, and urban comedy ''Anuvahood,'' which required 2.a million ($3.4 million) in the U.K. box office. The McLean biopic is not the distrib-producer's first foray into bare-knuckle arena: In Sundance, captured Revolver clicked up U.K. privileges to for Ian Palmer's Irish fistfight docu ''Knuckle,'' a hot title in the fest.
